Frequently Asked Questions:
Please, please read through + then email me any questions I did not cover.
Wedding photography is so important + I want to be as straight-forward as I can be! It's mighty frustrating when you have to go through mountains + valleys to come to a simple answer. Here are the most common questions I get from my wonderful clients!
What is the booking process?
You've seen my work + either want to know more info or you want to jump right in and book! Either way, go to my "Book Now" page and fill out the form. I will email you back about your big day + any info to come with that. (I always respond within 24 hours). We can keep emailing or set up a phone/coffee date. Once you want to make it official, you'll pick your collection, I will send over contract, you will pay your retainers. Bada-bing! You're booked. Welcome to the family.
When do I get my photos?
My turnaround time for a wedding is 8-10 weeks. My turnaround time for an engagement session is 1-2 weeks.
How do I receive my images?
I will email you your online gallery. From there, you can purchase your prints + have them sent straight to your doorstep! You also have the option to download your images to your computer. I do not put watermarks on the images -- they are all yours!
Okay, I've booked. We've done our engagement session. Now what?
About a month before your wedding, I will send over an extensive questionnaire so I know all the details of your day. I will make up a timeline for photos of the day. You can email me as much as you want leading up to that time!
How many photos will I receive?
It all depends on how many hours I'm there! I typically say about 40-70 images per shooting time. I give only edited images -- I do not send any blinks, nose picking, blurry photos, or photobombers (unless its like super freakin' funny). I do NOT give out RAW, unedited images. (Unless you're down to pay that copyright price.)
Do we meet in person or talk on the phone?
Totally and completely up to you! I am fine with a coffee date (or some apps + whiskey) but I am also cool with email/text/phone call. Local brides will probably benefit more with meeting for a cute date. Out of state brides, we can Skype (if you're cool with mom hair and baggy eyes) or talk on the phone!
Do you travel?
Alright, I'm about to sound real #basic. But I am a true wanderlust! I get a thrill from every single type of setting. City, beach, mountains, even the rainforest! (No, I've never been to the rainforest... but I am so for it.) Travel + lodging fees are required on top of wedding fee. I custom quote travel elopements/weddings so please email me + we will figure out the perfect price!
I really want you to be my photographer, but our budget is a little lower than your package prices.
Okay, time to talk money. Don't be afraid to open that door -- I am an open book and welcome ALL questions. I get it, money is rough. Planning a wedding is rough. It sucks when all you want are stunning photos for your big day but looking at wedding photographer prices have you super discouraged. Here are some suggestions... A) Have your wedding during "off season". Here in the midwest, off season is November-April. B) Have your wedding on a Friday or Sunday. A lot of venues offer weekday discounts! C) You're a last minute bride (and if you are, that's totally cool!) and the wedding is in 3-5 months! If I am available, I will offer my services to work out with your budget. But honestly, if you are getting married 12+ months out, try to save save save! Your photos are all you're going to have to look back on. But please, do not be afraid to talk #money with me.
Do you offer any tips to make our engagement session or wedding go smoothly and to get the best pictures we can get?
Abso-freaking-lutely! We can talk one-on-one about outfits/styling, mood boards, capturing the best light, and even calming your nerves so you are candid and unposed without feeling lame.
Can I see a full gallery?
Yes! Once you're booked + I get a good feel of what your wedding is all about, I will send full galleries of weddings that I feel are in line with your vision.
